submit a lower bid -- perhaps even at the DOT budgeted <br />amount. <br />Attorney Brandenburg stated that all the resolution <br />says is that we encourage the DOT to rebid it and that if it <br />comes in over their budget, we will enter into negotiations <br />with them to see if we can -reach an agreement. It does not <br />say that we will pay any amount over the budget, or even <br />that we will pay anything. <br />Director Davis reported that he has talked with the DOT <br />in re to the possibility of making this a joint project, but <br />they have federal funds. involved and have indicated that <br />they do not have the flexibility to do that with their <br />funding.
