Description and Conditions: <br />Bids were received October 4, 1983 at 11:00 A.M. for IRC Bid #187 New <br />1983 or 1984 1 Ton Truck, Cab & Chassis for the Utilities Department. <br />This vehicle will replace the one destroyed in the accident on Sept. 4, 1983. <br />17 Bid Proposals were sent out, 7 Bids were received. <br />2. Alternatives and Analysis: <br />The low bid was received by Roger Whitley Chevrolet, Tampa, Fl for a 1984 <br />Chevrolet in the amount of $11,763.00. 90-120 days required for delivery. <br />The bid meets all specifications. <br />3. Recommendation and Funding: <br />Staff recommends that IRC Bid #187 -be awarded to the low bidder, Roger Whitley <br />Chevrolet in the amount of $11,763.00. <br />Funds to come from Utilities Department Renewal and Replacement Account. <br />Purchasing Manager Carolyn Goodrich explained that <br />while the low bid was received from a Tampa Chevrolet <br />dealer, the truck would be serviced locally. <br />Commissioner Scurlock asked if the truck -was on the <br />State Contract and Mrs. Goodrich explained that it was, but <br />did not know if the State Contract included a utilities box <br />as this vehicle would be the service truck for the Utilities <br />Dept. <br />Administrator Tright asked that the Board approve this <br />today, subject to his checking the State Contract to see if <br />the 1 -ton truck options include a utilities box. <br />13 <br />
