PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, a group of young ladies between the ages of <br />i <br />four to seventeen gathered together in September, 1978 to form a <br />majorette corps known as GLORIA'S GIRLS OF VERO BEACH; and <br />WHEREAS, the teams comprising GLORIA'S GIRLS have <br />competed in local, state and national majorette events during the <br />past five years, accumulating over 2,000 individual and team <br />trophies, in addition to developing the poise, grace, and char- <br />acter of its membership; and <br />WHEREAS, GLORIA'S GIRLS SENIOR TEAM has enjoyed the <br />honor of representing the United States in an international twirl- <br />ing convention in Belgium; and <br />WHEREAS, GLORIA'S GIRLS recently earned six State <br />Championship awards, en route to representing the State of Florida <br />in a national competition among four hundred twenty-one teams in <br />North Carolina, where the group took Second Place honors; and <br />WHEREAS, when not engaged in friendly competition, <br />these young ladies provide public service through the entertain- <br />ment of various organizations, including nursing and retirement <br />homes; and <br />WHEREAS, the individual and community acclaim gener- <br />ated by GLORIA'S GIRLS, under the leadership and direction of <br />GLORIA BENTLEY, is worthy of the praise and support of the citi- <br />zens of Indian River County, Florida. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board on <br />behalf of itself and the citizens of this County expresses <br />congratulations and appreciation for this group of fine young <br />ladies and urges the citizens of the County to continue support of <br />GLORIA'S GIRLS OF VERO BEACH, both in spirit and financially, <br />through contributions to the group, thereby enabling GLORIA'S <br />GIRLS to carry on their fine efforts in the future. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY , iAAA <br />By <br />RICHARD N.
