He felt that the hand-held radios could be <br />purchased for approximately $53,000, with the money to come <br />from the seizure fund. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked about maintenance and Sheriff <br />Dobeck stated that we have one-year free maintenance and <br />they have experienced very good service on their radios. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, the Board <br />unanimously authorized the purchase of 34 <br />additional hand-held radios at a cost of $53,000 <br />to be paid for out of the Sheriff's seizure fund. <br />Donation of Proceeds from Sale of Confiscated Cessna to <br />Sebastian Police -Department <br />Sheriff Dobeck stated that they have worked very <br />closely with the Sebastian Police Dept. and in July, 1981, <br />made a joint seizure of a Cessna "Push Pull", which is in <br />poor condition. They have it advertised for sale in the <br />newspaper and hope to receive $5,000, but will probably only <br />get $3,000. The Sheriff suggested that, since they have <br />worked so closely with them, that the entire proceeds be <br />used by the Sebastian Police Department. He just wanted the <br />Board to be aware that the plane has been advertised for <br />sale and that he has asked the Sebastian Police Department <br />to come back with a proposal of how they could use the <br />entire amount realized from the sale of the plane. <br />APPROVAL OF ADDITIONAL $3,000 TO CONSTRUCT EXERCISE ROOM IN <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br />Sheriff Dobeck requested that the Board approve an <br />additional $3,000 for the installation of plumbing in the <br />exercise room. <br />51 <br />NOV 21993 <br />to. 55 rasp 217 <br />
