Fitzmaurice to the <br />Transportation Committee as recommended by <br />Mayor Flood. <br />REPORT ON TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />Commissioner Scurlock reviewed the following summary of <br />actions of the November 8th meeting of the Transportation <br />Planning Committee: <br />SUMMARY OF ACTIONS- - <br />TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />November 8, 1983 <br />1. Twelfth Street Traffic Improvement Plan: <br />Committee approved unanimously staff's recommended plan for <br />improving 12th Street and Indian River Boulevard as follows: <br />.Extend Indian River Boulevard south of 17th Street to <br />12th Street (four lanes divided); <br />-Widen and extend 12th Street between Old Dixie Highway and <br />Indian River Boulevard (five lanes); <br />•Bikepath/sidewalks on 12th Street from 20th Avenue and <br />6th Avenue, and on 6th Avenue from 16th Street to 12th Street; <br />2. School Speed Reduction Beacons: <br />Committee approved school beacons as requested by the School <br />Board and P.T.A. as follows: <br />•27th Avenue (SR -607) at Citrus Elementary: speed reduction <br />beacon to be requested through the FDOT; <br />-45th Street at Middle 6/7: speed reduction beacon; <br />?CR512 at Sebastian River Middle School: advance warning <br />beacon with school entrance sign; <br />-Funding to be included in FY84-85 budget or with current <br />year funds if available at end of year. <br />3. Traffic Signal - U.S. 1 at Oslo Road: <br />Committee approved staff recommendation to install- atraffic <br />signal. FDOT to be requested to add to their five-year plan. <br />If new development occurs at the intersection, then a contribution <br />for,signalization costs will be required and the signal may <br />be installed prior to FDOT's schedule using County and developer <br />funds. <br />146 <br />
