N 0 V 1.6 19 3oK � WE -373 <br />The Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be <br />heard. <br />Anita Smith came before the Board representing her <br />mother, Mrs. Nelson Miller, who has property just south of <br />the subject property, and stated that she would like the <br />property to stay C-1; she does not want heavy commercial <br />there. <br />Planner Shearer explained that the C-2 commercial <br />district <br />is very similar <br />to C-1. <br />C-1 traditionally <br />has <br />allowed <br />a wide range of <br />commercial <br />activities, and <br />the <br />intent of C-2 was to separate some of these more intensive <br />uses into a special district. The only use C-2 allows which <br />C-1 does not allow is mini warehouses. Mr. Shearer felt the <br />"heavy commercial" title is a bit misleading, and noted they <br />really are not changing the use of the land - just allowing <br />the non -conforming use to continue. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />adopted Ordinance 83-40 rezoning to C-2 as <br />requested by Indian River Lumber Co. <br />85 <br />
