-DEC 7 1993 <br />8� 55 PACE <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt some people prefer to donate <br />food and noted we also gave gift certificates last year. <br />Mr. Thomas agreed that food does come in, but <br />emphasized that they do not want to wait until the last <br />minute. As to gift certificates, he commented there had <br />been some problems as to what these had been used for, and <br />now they are designated for meat only. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bowman, that the <br />Welfare Department be authorized to borrow <br />$3,000 from the Contingency Fund with the <br />understanding that after the contributions <br />are received, the difference will be con- <br />sidered as a budget item for the Welfare <br />Department. <br />Commissioner Wodtke noted that they felt $3,000 would <br />cover what they want to do, and asked if they anticipate <br />receiving at least $2,000. <br />Mr. Thomas pointed out that if they receive canned <br />food, it can be handed out all year. He noted that Welfare <br />was cut back at budgettime and at that time said if they had <br />a problem, they would come back to the Board. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried 4 to 1 with <br />Commissioner Wodtke voting in opposition. <br />REDUCTION OF BOND REQUIRED FOR LANDSCAPING CONTRACT - <br />TRACKING STATION PARK. <br />Administrator Wright reviewed letter from Glenn & <br />Mike's Landscaping, as follows, and stated that he had no <br />specific recommendation; <br />98 <br />N <br />
