p 1933 5- PAcE555 <br />feet for what the County can offer - the $300,000 remaining <br />from the beach bond proceeds. <br />Mr. Deprez asked what the chances were of getting <br />another bond issue and the Commission felt it was nil <br />because we had just asked the people if they wanted to <br />acquire beach property and they voted a $5 -million bond. <br />Commissioner Lyons felt that we should make sure that <br />we have enough property on AIA to provide parking, etc. <br />Chairman Bird felt that we have enough depth to provide <br />parking on all of the proposed properties. Attorney <br />Brandenburg reported that the Golden Sands property is <br />deeper than the Erdo property. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt that the bond issue was sold <br />to the public as a vehicle to purchase oceanfront property. <br />If he had his druthers, he would hold the balance of the <br />money. However, if it has to be spent, he would prefer the <br />addition of oceanfront property. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked Attorney Brandenburg if it <br />might be to our advantage if the County saved a little <br />money to go with any State money that might be forthcoming, <br />and Attorney Brandenburg stated that just is not known. <br />It was generally agreed that the County should purchase <br />as much of the remaining Golden Sands ocean frontage as can <br />be bought with what was left from the beach bond proceeds, <br />approximately $300,000 for 222 feet of ocean frontage. <br />Discussion ensued regarding options on the east and <br />west side of AlA, and Mr. Deprez asked if the County could <br />s <br />give an assurance that they would buy his clients property <br />first if money is received from the Save.Our Coast program. <br />Chairman Bird stated that we could not because we cannot <br />control which parcel will be selected for purchase by the <br />State. The County agreed on releasing said options immed- <br />iately upon being notified that the Save Our Coasts funds <br />were not available and there being no other funding sources. <br />He asked if there was anyway the County could waive the taxes and <br />e <br />56 <br />
