<br />The Board of County Commissioners of In-
<br />dian River County will conduct a public hear-
<br />ing on December 7, 1983, at 2:09 P.M. in the
<br />Commission Chambers at the County Admin-
<br />istration Building, 1840 25th Street, Vero
<br />Beach. Florida, to consider adoption of an or-
<br />dinance entitled:
<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF
<br />COUNTY' COMMISSIONERS OF IN-
<br />DIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA,
<br />PROHIBITING THE SALVAGING OF
<br />ITEMS FROM INDIAN RIVER COUNTY
<br />TRANSFER STATIONS AND REQUIR-
<br />ING THE POSTING OF NO SALVAG-
<br />ING SIGNS; PROVIDING FOR PENAL-
<br />TIES; INCORPORATION IN CODE;
<br />SEVERABILITY; AND EFFECTIVE
<br />DATE. .
<br />If any person decides to appeal any deci-
<br />sion made on the above matter, he/she will
<br />need a record of the proceedings, and for
<br />such purposes, he/she may need*to ensure
<br />that a verbatim record of the proceedings is
<br />made, which record includes the testimony in
<br />evidence on which the appeal is based.

<br />Administrator Wright explained that the County has a
<br />liability situation not only with the people who may get
<br />hurt removing items from the dumpsters, but there are people
<br />who actually climb in the containers and throw items out.
<br />In addition, this creates a maintenance problem.
<br />Commissioner Bowman agreed we may need an ordinance to
<br />protect us in the liability situation, but believed it would
<br />be unenforceable.
