Attorney Brandenburg opened the nominations for Vice <br />Chairman. <br />Commissioner Bowman nominated Commissioner Lyons. <br />There being no further nominations, Attorney <br />Brandenburg -declared Commissioner Lyons Vice Chairman by <br />acclamation. <br />Chairman Scurlock took over the gavel from the Attorney <br />and thanked everyone for their expression of confidence. He <br />congratulated former Chairman Bird on a job well done. <br />MEETING POLICY PROCEDURES <br />Chairman Scurlock explained that he had requested this <br />matter be placed on the Agenda today to consider changes in <br />the meetings of -the Board of County Commissioners. There <br />has been an increase in the number of public hearings and <br />rezonings, and he felt it might be a good idea to meet more <br />often, but only in morning sessions. <br />It was suggested that the Board give the weekly <br />sessions a one-month trial and meet every Wednesday morning <br />at 9:00 beginning January 25, 1984. The regular scheduled <br />meeting of January 18, 1984 will be a full-day session. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bowman, the <br />Board unanimously agreed to hold the <br />Board meetings every Wednesday morning <br />at 9:00 for a one-month trial period. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Chairman Scurlock asked if there were any additions or <br />corrections to the Minutes of the Special Meeting of - <br />11/30/83.
