SELECTION OF CONSULTING ENGINEER FOR S.R. #60 WATERLINE <br />EXTENSION PROJECT <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/24/84: <br />TO: THE HONORABLE MEMBERS OF THEDATE: January 24, 1984 FILE: <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THROUGH: Michael Wright, <br />County Administrator <br />SUBJECT: SELECTION OF CONSULTING ENGINEER <br />FOR DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION - - <br />ADMINISTRATION OF RT. 60 WATERLIN <br />1 <br />j, EXTENSION PROJECT <br />Z'U <br />lip <br />' G 'lPn toFROM� REFERENCES: <br />Utility Services Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />The County Commission authorized the Administrator to form a Selection <br />Committee to receive proposals, carry out interviews and make a <br />recommendation for the selection of a consulting engineer to design, <br />prepare specifications and carry out construction administration <br />for the construction of a waterline to service the Rt. 60 corridor. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSES: <br />The Selection Committee comprised of: <br />Terrance Pinto <br />Jim Davis <br />Mike Galanis <br />Gary Brandenburg <br />Jeffrey Barton <br />received proposals from twelve (12) consulting engineering firms <br />and requested interviews from four (4) of the twelve (12) proposals. <br />Those selected for interviews were: <br />Beindorf & Associates Carter & Associates <br />Lloyd & Associates Sippel & Masteller Associates <br />Mr. Beindorf's firm elected not to be interviewed and withdrew <br />his proposal due to other workload commitments. The Committee <br />analyzed the qualifications, experience, and pricing methodology <br />of the firms -Carter, Masteller, and Lloyd. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />We recommend the Board authorize the Administrator and/or his <br />designee to negotiate the cost of the proposed project starting <br />with Carter and Associates and if in fact a suitable fee cannot <br />be reached, be authorized to negotiate with Masteller & Associates; <br />and proceed in same manner with Lloyd & Associates if in fact <br />agreement cannot be reached with the number two firm. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board <br />authorize the Administrator to negotiate the cost <br />12 <br />JAN 2 5 1984 tootP, <br />
