CONSENT AGENDA <br />A. IRC Bid #193 - Blount Construction Laser Basic Package <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/16/84: <br />TO: Board of County Commissioners DATE: January 15, 1984 FILE: <br />THRU: Michael Wright SUBJECT: IRC Bid #193 -Blount Construction <br />County Administrator Laser Basic Package or Equivalent <br />for the Engineering Department <br />GWRAL SERVIC DIVISION <br />FROM:L a-� '- REFERENCES: <br />CarolyA Goodrich, Manager <br />Purchasing Department <br />I. Description and Conditions: <br />Bids were received January 10, 1984 at 11:00 A.M. for IRC Bid #193 -Blount <br />Construction Laser Basic Package or equivalent, for the Engineering Depart- <br />ment. This piece of equipment can be used by one person, therefore, it will <br />eliminate the need to hire a rodman part time or full time and will reduce a <br />3 man crew to a 2 man crew. The detectors to be mounted on the rod may be <br />purchased separately at a cost of $550.00 each and will expand a survey crew <br />without hiring additional personnel. <br />8 Bid Proposals were sent out. Of the 6 Bid Proposals received, 1 was a No Bid. <br />2. Alternatives and Analysis: <br />The low bid was submitted by Laser Alignment, Inc., Grand Rapids, Michigan in <br />the amount of $4550.00. This bid did not meet specifications. Specifications, <br />call for a job range of up to 1200 ft radius, the equipment bid has a range of <br />700 ft radius. <br />The second low bid was submitted by Vari-Tech Co., Grand Rapids, Michigan in the <br />amount of $4884.43. This piece of equipment does not have the ,range required <br />and Vari-Tech Co., could not produce a specification sheet on this equipment. <br />The third low bid was submitted by Lengemann of Florida in the amount of $5726.10. <br />The bid meets all specifications. <br />3. Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends IRC Bid 1193 be awarded to Lengemann of Florida, the low bidder <br />meeting all specifications. Total bid $5726.10: <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, the Board <br />unanimously (4-0) awarded IRC Bid #193 in the <br />amount of $5,726.10 to Lengemann of Florida, <br />the low bidder meeting all specifications, for <br />the purchase of a Blount Construction Laser Basic <br />Package, as recommended by Purchasing Manager <br />Carolyn Goodrich. <br />3 <br />JAN 2 5 1984 e nc , PACE 8,92 <br />
