FEB 1 1984 <br />PACE <br />!Q <br />contingencies are running very low, <br />and Administrator <br />Wright <br />emphasized that the renovations are needed now. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt that we must raise this <br />question with every request for funds because the contingencies <br />are running low, and there are sure to be other emergency <br />situations before the end of the fiscal year. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, that the <br />Board approve the above budget amendment for <br />an amount not to exceed $6,000 for alterations <br />to the Health Dept. Building, as recommended by <br />OMB Director Barton. <br />9 <br />Under discussion, Director Barton reported that the <br />present contingency level is approximately $200,000. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if we anticipate receiving <br />any huge hospital bills for indigent patients, as he <br />recalled that there have been bills in the past that have <br />totalled as much as $20,000-$30,000. Dr. Tucker felt that <br />was always a possibility, but reported that there were no <br />indigent patients in the hospital at the present time. He <br />advised that the Health Dept. is trying to develop some <br />working relations with the hospital through the Florida <br />Community Health Service, and he now serves on that board. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion was voted on and carried <br />unanimously. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the low level of the <br />contingency funds and how those funds would be affected by <br />the out -of -County trials of David Gore and Fred Waterfield. <br />It was estimated that the two trials would cost the County <br />20 <br />
