This would be similar to the <br />position we are taking with the complicated matters that come--. <br />before the Property Appraisal Adjustment Board.. <br />If you agree with this approach, I would suggest that the <br />Administrator and the Attorney be authorized to provide us with <br />an ordinance and a set of rules for such hearings. <br />Commissioner Lyons recommended that staff be authorized <br />to look into the possibility of employing a professional <br />hearing officer for utility rate hearings. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bowman, that the <br />Board approve his recommendation as outlined <br />in the above memo of 1/23/84. <br />Commissioner Wodtke had some reservation, but believed <br />that a hearing officer would benefit us greatly in providing <br />technical information. <br />It would also take a lot of pressure <br />61 <br />FEB 1 1984 <br />SUK ,.6 PAGE <br />
