a long hard look at the figures and come back to this <br />Commission with a well-founded summary and recommendation. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, that the Board <br />authorize Commissioner Bird to head up a committee <br />to do a feasibility study of building a public <br />golf course at Kiwanis-Hobart Park. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Bird assured <br />Commissioner Lyons that inclusion of an executive course <br />would be considered in the development at Kiwanis-Hobart Park. <br />Commissioner Bird invited anyone interested in serving on <br />the committee to submit resumes. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion was voted on and carried <br />unanimously. <br />CONSIDERATION OF CONSOLIDATION OF COUNTY -WIDE RECREATIONAL <br />Commissioner Bird recommended that the County consolidate <br />its various recreational programs into one County -wide <br />program, as the various programs result in a gap of services <br />and, in some cases, duplication. He felt that a long-range <br />program should be established with County -wide funding and <br />reported that he had a preliminary meeting with the City of <br />Vero Beach about their willingness and cooperation in <br />studying the possibility of this as they have built a <br />nucleus around which we could form a County -wide program. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he would like to begin by <br />establishing a committee made up of people within the County <br />who can contribute considerable expertise in recreational <br />matters and can conduct an independent analysis of the <br />67 <br />FEB 1 1984 bid 56 ' PAU wu- <br />� J <br />
