FE -B 15 1994 <br />BOOK` FauE <br />DISCUSSION RE USING SHERIFF'S CONFISCATED FUNDS TO HELP <br />FINANCE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW JAIL <br />Commissioner Lyons requested Attorney Brandenburg to <br />research Florida Statutes to determine whether the Sheriff's <br />confiscated funds can be used to help finance construction <br />of the new jail. <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR OUT -OF COUNTY TRAVEL - NACO ANNUAL <br />CONFERENCE <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that he attended a NACO <br />conference two or three years ago and found it.to be <br />excellent. There is an opportunity to get some early <br />insights into cost bills that are being presented at the <br />time the <br />national budget comes out. <br />He requested <br />that <br />Attorney <br />Brandenburg be authorized <br />to attend this <br />year's <br />conference. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, the Board <br />unanimously authorized out -of -County travel <br />for Commissioners and appropriate staff to <br />attend the Annual Conference of the National <br />Association of Counties in Washington, D.C. <br />on March 17-20, 1984. <br />Chairman Scurlock pointed out that the Board has used <br />920 of their travel budget and suggested that, whenever <br />possible, travel costs should be charged back to the <br />appropriate County department that is involved. <br />Administrator Wright believed that "Save Our Coasts" <br />paid the County for travel involved. -. <br />42 <br />I <br />
