EXHIBIT `1' <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />WORK ORDER NO. 12 <br />Project Description <br />The proposed project will provide surveying, engineering design and permitting for the construction <br />of a new 8" Gravity Sewer Collection system within Block A of the Summerplace Unit I subdivision. <br />The facilities shall provide sewage collection infrastructure to serve the ten (10) home sites on East <br />Shell Lane, and provide stub=outs for future connections and extensions to serve other areas of the <br />Summerplace Unit 1 subdivision and other adjacent properties. The gravity sewer main will be <br />constructed from the east end (cul-de-sac) of East shell Lane, and run west approximately 393 1f to the <br />east side of the intersection of East Shell lane and State Road A -1-A; then the main shall run south <br />along the east right-of-way of State Road A=I -A approximately 1121f, where it will then turn east for <br />20 If, and connect to an existing Indian River County Department of Utility services Sewage Lift <br />station, where the sewage collected will be pumped to the Indian River County Department of Utility <br />services wastewater treatment Plant. In addition, another gravity sewer main will be constructed from <br />a point approximately 160 if north of the east side of the intersection of East Shell lane and State Road <br />A -1-A, and will run south for 160 if where it will connect to the proposed gravity sewer main at the <br />east side of the intersection of East Shell lane and State Road A -I -A. <br />The construction will provide existing utility customers that currently only are provided with water <br />service, the ability to connect to the IRC regional wastewater collection and treatment system; and the <br />connection of existing customers to the system will provide opportunities for existing residences to <br />abandon existing septic systems, which shall benefit the environment and water quality enjoyed by all <br />Indian River county residents. <br />Scope of Services <br />Schulke, Bittle & Stoddard, L.L.C. will provide services including surveying, engineering design, <br />preparation of construction plans, preparation and submittal of permit applications, preparation . of <br />contract / bid documents, construction administration and periodic construction field inspection for the <br />construction of the new 8" Gravity Sewer Collection system within BIock A of the Summerplace Unit <br />1 subdivision. (see Attachment "A" for location and Attachment "B" for construction cost tabulation). <br />The estimated construction cost of this project is $ $81,850.23. <br />In connection with this project, the County will provide the Engineer with a copy of any pertinent <br />Preliminary Data or Reports; all available drawings in electronic AutoCADD format; all surveys, <br />maps and other documentation in the possession of or reasonably available to the County that are <br />pertinent to the project. <br />Services not included in this scope of services are listed as follows: <br />• Excavation for field verification of actual locations of existing underground utilities <br />and structures. It is requested that Indian River County provide the excavation as <br />directed by Schulke, Bittle & Stoddard, L.L.C. <br />• Any services associated with assisting Indian River County in review and evaluation <br />of patent related disputes, issues, or claims including preparing to serve or serving as <br />a consultant or witness for Indian River County in Iitigation, arbitration, public or <br />private hearings, or other legal administrative proceedings involving patent related <br />disputes, issues or claims. <br />• Any services in connection with the project not otherwise provided for in this scope <br />of services. <br />In order to execute this project in the most cost effective manner with the most aggressive schedule, <br />Schulke, Bittle & Stoddard, L.L.C. is retaining Houston, Schulke, Bittle & Stoddard, Inc. to prepare a <br />route survey necessary for the design and construction of the project, and will retain KSM <br />Engineering and Testing, Inc., for the geotechnical evaluation of the soils within the project. <br />
