APR 18 1994 <br />P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />BOOK 56 PAGE 74.8 <br />WHEREAS, each year many citizens of our state and nation <br />volunteer countless hours of service in order to help others; and <br />WHEREAS, these VOLUNTEERS work to build strong community <br />organizations to promote issues in the public interest and to <br />help their fellow citizens in need; and <br />WHEREAS, VOLUNTEERS come from every age group from youth to <br />senior citizens and from all walks of life; VOLUNTEERS give <br />assistance in countless ways, such as, hospital candy -stripers, <br />crisis clinic intervention counselors, tutors, foster parents, <br />community food bank workers and a multitude of other avocations; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, volunteering plays a vital role in any community, <br />with neighbors showing their concern for one another -- both <br />friends and strangers alike; and <br />WHEREAS, it is important for all of us to recognize our <br />responsibilities in these difficult but temporary times and to <br />follow the example of VOLUNTEERS by giving of ourselves for the <br />betterment of all; and <br />WHEREAS, those VOLUNTEERS, who unselfishly give of their <br />time and of themselves in order to improve the quality of life <br />for all, deserve special recognition; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that the week of <br />MAY 6th - 13th, 1984 be designated as <br />VOLUNTEER WEEK <br />in Indian River County, Florida, and invites all citizens to <br />honor and to emulate the fine individuals who help their <br />communities by opening up their hearts. <br />ATTEST: <br />BY �-P)h-4 'C!544 <br />Freda Wright, Clerk <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />BY C <br />Don C.
