P R O C L A M A T I O N <br />WHEREAS, the AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION has been <br />building a tradition over the past thirty-five years based on its <br />continuing efforts to provide opportunities for educational <br />advancement to women; and <br />WHEREAS, business, economic, and social analyses indicated <br />that as women .continue to enter the work force and attain <br />increasingly responsible positions, they will contribute to the <br />betterment of business and communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the members of the AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S <br />ASSOCIATION recognize that education and skilled training are <br />crucial in today's technological society; and <br />WHEREAS, last year, AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION's <br />more than 2,000 local chapters awarded over $2,000,000 in <br />scholarships to women; and <br />WHEREAS, the AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION's <br />national scholarship fund has awarded scholarships surpassing <br />$2,500,000 since its inception in 1953. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the month of <br />May, 1984 be observed as <br />AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION <br />EDUCATION MONTH IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED, that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida ask the residents <br />of the surrounding communities to salute the more than 110,000 <br />AMERICAN BUSINESS WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION members for their <br />supportive efforts in helping women advance through education, <br />and for developing an informed and responsible citizenry. <br />ATTEST: <br />Q <br />- al 61.� <br />F EDA ,WRIGHT, C RK <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />DON .
