He wished to know if we are <br />considering just the North Beach area or the entire length <br />of the Barrier Island. <br />Commissioners Lyons felt that question demonstrates <br />exactly why this matter needs more discussion. <br />Commissioner Wodtke suggested that it be referred to <br />the Scenic Road-& Trails Committee and the Historical <br />Society as well. <br />Mrs. Lockwood, representing the Historical Society, <br />informed the Board that the Society at their last meeting <br />moved that the whole island from the Sebastian Inlet south <br />to the Fort Pierce Inlet be called Orchid Island. She <br />reported that they have a map of over 100 years standing <br />(dated 1837), showing it is an island. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that he would modify his <br />Motion to ask that the Scenic Road and Trails Committee call <br />79 <br />
