Declare Citrus Trees on Jail Site Surplus property <br />The Board reviewed memo of the Purchasing Manager, as <br />follows: <br />TO: The Honorable Members of DATE: May 4, 1984 FILE: <br />the Board of County Commissioners <br />THRU: Michael ht <br />County A mi istrator <br />FROM: Carolyn Goodrich, Mgr. <br />Purchasing Department <br />SUBJECT: SURPLUS PROPERTY <br />REFERENCES: <br />1. Description and Conditions <br />Located on the County owned property for the new jail are <br />approximately 188 citrus trees. There has been outside <br />interest expressed in purchasing these trees. The majority <br />of the trees would otherwise be destroyed when construction <br />of the new jail begins. <br />2.. Alternatives and Analysis <br />The citrus trees must be declared surplus property so they <br />may be sold to the best bidder. <br />3. Recommendation and Funding <br />Staff recommends that the citrus trees in the planned con- <br />struction area on the jail site be declared as surplus, so <br />they may be sold to the best bidder. Trees not in the -con- <br />struction will be preserved whenever practical. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0) <br />declared the citrus trees on the County Jail <br />Site property surplus and authorized their <br />sale to the best bidder. <br />O.
