I have <br />been a legal resident of Vero Beach since 1979. In May of 1982 I took early retirement <br />from the Duke University School of Nursing in North Carolina, where I was an Associate <br />Professor of Nursing. <br />My professional experience has been in Nursing Education and Administration of schools <br />of nursing. My education has included a baccalaureate degree from Simmons College in <br />Boston, Mass; a Master of Science degree from Boston University; and a doctorate in <br />education from the University of Florida, Gainesville. <br />I worked for several months on a sabbatical project with the Visiting Nurse Association <br />of Indian River County in 1980; and at present I am an active volunteer with that org- <br />anization. Thus I feel I am aware of -many of the health care.needs within this commun- <br />ity. <br />I have been interested for many years in the delivery of health care in the best possible <br />way for consumers; this was the philosophical basis for my sabbatical project. I have <br />done much reading and some writing on the subject. Serving with a group such as the <br />Health Council seems to me a very appropriate way for the community to use my abilities. <br />I have always been able to work well with others; my career involved such experiences <br />on a daily basis. <br />13 <br />MAY 2 3 1984 Boon 57 PAGE 130 <br />
