MEMO TO: <br />SUBJECT: <br />May 4, 1984 <br />TOMMY THOMAS <br />VOTING MACHINE WAREHOUSE <br />IN ORDER TO PROTECT OUR INVESTMENT IN OUR VOTING MACHINES <br />WE NEED TO HAVE THE VOTING MACHINE WAREHOUSE INSULATED AND <br />AIR-CONDITIONED. <br />THE TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS 110 DEGREES AND IT IS SHOWING UP <br />ON THE MACHINES (MOISTURE COLLECTING) <br />MORE PROBLEMS INCOUNTERED AT LAST ELECTIONS THAN EVER BEFORE. <br />VOTING MACHINES MECH. WILL BE WORKING THRU THE SUMMER TO INSURE <br />THAT MACHINES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION FOR THE THREE ELECTIONS <br />COMING UP. <br />WE HAVE A LOT OF MONEY INVOLVED IN THESE MACHINES AND SHOULD <br />TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS TO KEEP THEM IN BEST OF CONDITION. <br />ROSEMARY RICHE <br />SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that we will be taking on a <br />larger monthly power bill and wished to know if the ware- <br />house is adequately insulated. <br />Administrator Wright assured him that the insulation <br />needed to keep the power bill down will be provided. This <br />is included in the estimate. Mainly, it is important to <br />keep the humidity down. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) authorized having the voting machine <br />warehouse air conditioned and insulated per <br />staff estimate as above and approved a <br />budget transfer from the Supervisor of Elec- <br />tions to the Administrator, as set out in <br />the following budget amendment: <br />23 <br />JUN 61994 BOCK 57 PA.GE 285 <br />
