NAMING OF "HELEN HANSON PARK" <br />The Board reviewed the following letter from the Rose- <br />land Property Owners Association: <br />Roseland Property Owners,Associatio:i <br />P.O. Box 55 / <br />Sebastian, Florida 32958 <br />May 30, 1984 <br />Commissioner Richard Bird <br />Parks and Recreation Committee <br />1840 25th Street <br />Vero Beach, Florida 32960 <br />Dear Commissioner Bird: RE: Helen Hanson Park <br />The Beard of Directors of the Roseland Property Owners <br />Association together with a large number of residents in <br />Roseland would like to designate the County Park on Josie <br />Street,across from the Fire Station,as "Helen Hanson Park". <br />We would like to be placed on the June 14th agenda of <br />the Parks and Recreation Committee_.so that we may present our <br />reasons for this designation as well as presenting petitions <br />from Roseland residents. <br />Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appre- <br />ciated. <br />_gkr=rely, <br />.T. Wadsworth <br />,esident, R.P.O.A. <br />Commissioner Bird believed that there is great support <br />for this in the Roseland area in view of Mrs. Hanson's civic <br />work. He felt it would be most appropriate and suggested <br />that the naming of the park should be accompanied by a <br />public ceremony of some sort. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) adopted Resolution 84-45 officially <br />designating the County park located on Josie <br />Street in Roseland as Helen Hanson Park. <br />Said Resolution will be made a part of the Minutes when <br />completed and received. <br />JUL 3 1984 <br />17 <br />Boa 57 FnUE545 <br />
