352 <br />MONDAY, APRIL 13th, 1931. <br />The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, 1+lorida, met at <br />the Court House in Vero Beach, at 10 o'clock A.M. Monday April 13th 1931, with the foll- <br />owing members of the hoard present: Albert 0. Helseth, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; J.V.7,aBrucei <br />J.J.P.Hamilton and Eli C. Walker. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and Ejlarg S. <br />Rice, Sheriff. <br />Geo. w. Gray, agent for the owner of the Palmetto Hotel located in Vero Beech, <br />submitted, in writing, an offer to lease such hotel building for Court House quarters, <br />which said offer is as follows: <br />Hon Board of County Commissioners, <br />Indian River County, <br />Vero.Beach, Florida. <br />Gentlemen: - <br />g 'Vero Beach, Florida. <br />Apri•1 13th, 1931. <br />vie submit the following offer to lease the Palmetto Hotel to the County for <br />office and Court house purposes: <br />1. Term of lease, five years from May lst 1931 <br />2. Annual rental §1500.00 or X125.00 per month. <br />3. City, County and State taxes to be paid by County. <br />4. alterations to be made by County and replaced at end of lease. <br />5. Paving and other assessments not taxes, to be paid by us. <br />6. Possession May lst 1931, subject to immediate notice of <br />acceptance of this out offer to lease. <br />Lease to be drawn by County Attorney and submitted for approval before the same <br />shall become binding on us. <br />Respectfully • submitted, <br />Geo. v1. Gray, <br />Agt , f or owner." <br />W. A. Redding representing the .Florida. National Bank of Jacksonville, holders of th <br />mortgage on the building now being used as Court House quarters appeared before the <br />Board and submitted a proposition of reducing the rental now being paid, just as soon as <br />the Bank, or its duly named representative is -in a position to make a definite proposi- <br />tion as to rental, giving assurance it would be only a few days when this could be done. <br />on motion made by Commissioner Walker and seconded by Commissioner Yongue, it was <br />moved, seconded and carried that the proposition to rent or lease the Palmetto Hotel be <br />accepted. Upon being put to a vote the following voted yea: Com'rs. Walker; Hamilton <br />Yongue. No, Com.'rs. L€aBruee and Helseth. <br />it was moved, seconded and carried that the -welismere V'rurio st€aie lluad District be <br />permitted to rent Four �4) trucks of the County at the same rental formerly charged. <br />It was ordered that two cars of rock be ordered and streets repaired in Roseland as <br />per instructions to the Road Superintendent. <br />It was ordered that the Model O111 Eomd Roadster be sold for the sum of *60.00 as <br />it now stands. <br />There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board <br />adj ourned. <br />ST: � <br />Clerk. <br />4 <br />rm an <br />0 <br />a• <br />1 <br />1 <br />11 <br />
