He stated that without that <br />document he would vote against the Holmes' request. Based <br />on the site plan approval, however, he would feel the whole <br />piece is grandfathered in. <br />Mrs. Lucinda Eddy came before the Board and stated that <br />she is not objecting to Attorney Block's request, but she <br />wished to point out that for 25 years she wanted her corner <br />for commercial, and the Board turned her down last time. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that Mrs. Eddy had not had a <br />site plan, and Commissioner Bird stated that the main <br />difference is the Holmes had an existing commercial business <br />in operation when the Comprehensive Plan was adopted, and <br />they are grandfathered in. <br />Mrs. Eddy continued to argue that she had planned for <br />years based on commercial and she is in the same block and <br />she is ready to build. She felt it is logical for the whole <br />block to be commercial. <br />The Chairman determined that no one further wished to <br />be heard. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, to approve Ordinance <br />84-57 with exemption of the property as noted <br />by Attorney Block, the evidence being the <br />survey presented. <br />34 <br />
