Scurlock Jr. <br />Chairman <br />Aug. 16,1984.. - <br />Assistant County Attorney Jim Wilson explained that the <br />proposed ordinance re political signs, placement and removal <br />- of same, etc., is similar to the City's ordinance with <br />certain improvements. He noted that there are some blanks <br />in (2) Timing of placement. Since the candidates have to <br />qualify approximately 50 days prior to election and since <br />there is approximately 60 days between the Primary and <br />General Election, Attorney Wilson felt it would be appro- <br />priate to allow placement no more than 60 days prior to the <br />first primary even for those who are unopposed as he felt it <br />is very important to be fair to everyone. <br />Attorney Wilson then discussed the requirement for a <br />bond and reported that the City requires the placement of a <br />52 <br />
