Scurlock Jr. Chairman Aug. 16,1984.. - Assistant County Attorney Jim Wilson explained that the proposed ordinance re political signs, placement and removal - of same, etc., is similar to the City's ordinance with certain improvements. He noted that there are some blanks in (2) Timing of placement. Since the candidates have to qualify approximately 50 days prior to election and since there is approximately 60 days between the Primary and General Election, Attorney Wilson felt it would be appro- priate to allow placement no more than 60 days prior to the first primary even for those who are unopposed as he felt it is very important to be fair to everyone.
