It <br />is our option to stay in there or withdraw. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION 84-59 - ESTABLISHING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />COMMITTEE <br />The Board discussed changes to the proposed resolution, <br />and Commissioner Lyons suggested that Item 4. on the first <br />page read "A representative of other industry." <br />Commissioner Bird suggested that we should have a <br />representative of labor rather than another industry, and <br />Chairman Scurlock commented that he was thinking of someone <br />from the manufacturing industry. <br />After further discussion, it was felt that Item 4 <br />should specify a representative of non -construction industry <br />such as Piper, Rampmaster, Hetra, etc. <br />Under Section 4. Administration, Clerical/Legal, Com- <br />missioner Lyons felt rather than stating the Committee will <br />be given "the necessary staff" to perform its duties, it <br />should state reasonable assistance will be provided. <br />Commissioner Bowman pointed out that we have no one <br />representing labor, and discussion ensued regarding the size <br />of the committee. After further discussion, it was <br />generally agreed to leave it at 9 and see how it works out. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) adopted Resolution 84-59 establishing <br />the Economic Development Advisory Committee. <br />_I <br />
