Chairman Scurlock then asked Mr. Quillen if the <br />residents would be willing to pay approximately $20 a year <br />per parcel and Mr. Quillen thought that they would. <br />Commissioner Lyons still thought we should establish a <br />master street lighting district, but Director Barton felt <br />that it was impossible. He explained that when the <br />Commission previously asked staff to go and research this <br />matter, they had run into a nightmare of operational <br />problems, with a different levying process for each area. <br />Chairman Scurlock believed that if these people were <br />willing to pay $20 or year or so, we should find a way to do <br />it, but if it comes out that it would cost $37 a year and <br />the residents decided they could not handle it, then it <br />would be their decision. <br />- Mr. Quillen requested an evaluation report which they <br />could present to all the residents so they could decide to <br />go ahead or not. <br />Commissioner Wodtke thought that at some point we were <br />going to have to make a decision as to how much of staff's <br />time we are going to allow to be spent on these districts <br />because it takes the same amount of time to establish a <br />5 -pole district as it does a 15 -pole district. <br />Administrator Wright noted that they have received a <br />request for a one -light taxing district over on the beach. <br />Attorney Brandenburg asked if they had a homeowners <br />association, and Mr. Quillen stated they did not. <br />,Commissioner Wodtke pointed out that a homeowners <br />association would not help because Florida Power & Light <br />wanted the County to guarantee payment of the bills. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bird, that the <br />1 <br />Board authorize staff to take the necessary <br />action to prepare the figures to enable the <br />36 <br />SEP 12 1984 BOOK 58 FAGS 270 <br />
