Walker has estimated that Indian River County's share at the <br />hospital location would be $89,000 a year compared to <br />$108,000 a year at the college. <br />Commissioner Lyons noted that the numbers Dr. Walker <br />used in his budget are considerably in excess of the total <br />budgeted by the counties involved, which poses another <br />problem. <br />Commissioner Lyons recommended that the Board release <br />him and the County Attorney from further negotiations in <br />this matter and that we inform State Attorney Robert Stone, <br />if he would like to have the Medical Examiner located at the <br />college, that he make the necessary arrangements with the <br />college and Dr. Walker. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bowman, that the <br />Board inform State Attorney Robert Stone <br />that Indian River County has ceased negotiations <br />with Dr. Walker and recommends that the State <br />Attorney continue negotiations with the <br />Medical Examiner in the interest of having <br />his office located at Indian River Community <br />College. <br />Attorney Brandenburg thought that a new formula for <br />distribution of the costs of the Medical Examiner's <br />operating expenses would be submitted prior to our final <br />budget hearing. <br />In regard to the location of the Medical Examiner's <br />office, the County Attorney felt that it comes down to the <br />fact that Dr. Walker does not want to work out of the <br />college and there is no way for this county to force him to <br />do so without the agreement of the other three counties. <br />The other counties have indicated they do not wish to <br />82 <br />SEP 19 1934 �oox 58 ma 405 I <br />
