1-11 <br />have to guarantee our money, which is what we are doing. <br />This was budgeted, and the next step, if we get the state <br />funds, is to hire an architect; we are looking at the jail <br />site. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Said Documents, pre -application, letters of <br />Authorization, etc., are on file in the Office of the Clerk. <br />V EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT REPORT ON STORM (Isidore) <br />Administrator Wright noted that the storm seems to be <br />moving towards us, and we have taken some precautionary <br />activities and are getting ourselves ready. <br />Emergency Management Director Stephen Wells informed <br />the Board that the storm hasn't strengthened since last <br />night and has winds between 40-50 mph. It is about 160 <br />miles southeast of Miami and moving west northwest, but we <br />cannot guess what it will do. Miami has a 51% possibility <br />of being affected and Fort Pierce 31%. Mr. Wells believed <br />we may get some 40 mph winds here, which are gale winds. We <br />have had a good deal of rain already this month and another <br />2-3 inches could cause problems. <br />It was noted that we do not want to over -react, but <br />just take precautionary measures, such as close beaches to <br />, swimming, surfing, etc. <br />Administrator Wright reported that the Director Davis <br />is staying in contact with the Water Management District. <br />Gale warnings are in effect from Cape Canaveral to the <br />Tortugas, but there is no need for evacuation at this point. <br />ROAD CLOSING FOR CITRUS GROVES <br />Administrator Wright reported that we have had a number <br />of requests from grove owners in regard to closing roads <br />71 <br />SEP 2 6 1984 BOOK 8 PAcr_ 485 <br />
