over the next 60 days to purchase any one or more of these <br />properties for a pre -determined purchase price. The options at <br />this point have cost the County nothing, and if one of the <br />options is exercised, the County would have the period of five <br />months during which to close on the property. The closing under <br />each of the properties would be contingent upon the County <br />arranging for financing and construction permitting. If the <br />County fails to arrange for financing and does not go ahead with <br />a piece of property they purchase after the option is exercised, <br />the only cost to the County would be a nominal fee of $30 a month <br />for rental of the property during the five-month period; <br />therefore, the maximum exposure would be $150 per month. The one <br />exception to this is that one owner felt it was necessary for him <br />to receive $50 a month. <br />Administrator Wright reported that we have provided the <br />engineering company with maps of the tracts and they are doing a <br />preliminary analysis to find the site that is the most cost <br />effective from a pumping standpoint. When the analysis is <br />completed, a site recommendation will be brought back to the <br />Board. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman; Chairman Scurlock being absent and <br />Commissioner Wodtke having left the meeting <br />temporarily, the Board by a vote of 3-0, <br />authorized staff to enter into the options as <br />outlined, and authorized the Chairman's signature. <br />OPTIONS ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK. <br />SOLIN & ASSOCIATES <br />Attorney Paull recalled that back in May the Board <br />instructed Solin & Associates to work on the next two phases of <br />the zoning code and at that time did not officially authorize the <br />work on Phases 5 and 6.
