TO: The Honorable Members of DATE: October 18, 1984 FILE: <br />The Board of County Commissioners <br />SUBJECT: Blue Cypress Lake Community <br />Zoning, Sewer & Code <br />Violation problems <br />FROM: Michael Wright REFERENCES: <br />County Administrat0io <br />The staff is taking the following steps with regard to the Blue <br />Cypress Community zoning, sewer and code violation problems: <br />1. Utilities Director Terry Pinto will be meeting with the <br />County Consulting Engineer regarding the Master Sewer Plan. <br />It is anticipated the Consultant will do a preliminary <br />analysis of what action needs to be taken, and the <br />associated costs, to install a sewer collection system and <br />treatment plant for the area. <br />2. The Code Enforcement Section will be preparing an analysis <br />of all apparent code violations and will be presenting this <br />information to you, in pictorial form, at the October 24th <br />meeting. In addition, the Planning Department will be <br />notifying all property owners or lease holders of record <br />that no further structures can be built until the <br />multiplicity of problems are solved. <br />3. County Attorney Gary Brandenburg has agreed to research <br />the appropriate zoning district and prepare an ordinance for <br />your consideration. <br />4. With regard to the Danny Purdue application to place a <br />Mobile Home at Blue Cypress Lake, I am unclear as to what <br />action the board wants to take in this matter. Therefore, I <br />am asking for specific direction with regard to his <br />application for a certificate of occupancy. Attached, for <br />your information, is a copy of the last correspondence <br />between the Building Department and Danny Purdue. <br />Planning & Development Director Robert Keating explained <br />that the fishing camp was first put into service in the 1950's <br />before there was any zoning code and it looks as if it was <br />grandfathered in. In 1962 the Board of County Commissioners <br />rezoned it from agricultural to commercial, which allowed all <br />types of residential uses at that time, as well as commercial. <br />There is reference in the minutes of the meeting in 1962 that any <br />permanent residential units were required to meet residential <br />_ 39 <br />OCT <br />24 1984 Nor.. 58 741 <br />
