Wednesday, November 21, 1984 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />November 21, 1984, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr., Chairman; Richard N. Bird; Margaret <br />C. Bowman; and William C. Wodtke, Jr. Absent was Patrick B. <br />Lyons,. Vice Chairman, who was recuperating from surgery. Also <br />present were H. T. "Sonny" Dean, General Services Director, in <br />the absence of Michael J. Wright, County Administrator, who was <br />ill; Gary Brandenburg, Attorney to the Board of County Commis- <br />sioners; Jeffrey K. Barton, OMB Director; and Virginia <br />Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />At 8:30 A.M. prior to the Commission meeting, Judge Hendry <br />administered the Oath of Office to re-elected Commissioners <br />Margaret C. Bowman, Richard N. Bird, and Don C. Scurlock, Jr. <br />Oaths and Bonds for the above Commissioners are on file in the <br />Office of the Clerk. <br />Chairman Scurlock called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend Bruce Havens, Community Church, gave the <br />invocation, and Chairman Scurlock led the Pledge of Allegiance to <br />the Flag. <br />PROCLAMATION FOR JAMES VOCELLE, ESQUIRE <br />Attorney Brandenburg introduced to those present Indian <br />River County's very first County Attorney, James T. Vocelle, who <br />reminisced of the meeting when the County Commission was just <br />being organized and it was being decided how to divide the spoils <br />between St. Lucie County and Indian River County. He felt the <br />present Commission is doing a great job and appreciated the honor <br />being afforded him this morning. <br />Commissioner Wodtke made note of the fact that Mr. Vocelle's <br />son, Judge <br />L.
