Bird <br />yea SUBJECT: Lights at Kiwanis-Hobart <br />Ballfield <br />FROM: L. s • "Tommy" Thomas EAP ENCES: <br />Intergovernmental CoorcN <br />At the regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Committee on <br />November 15, 1984, the Committee unanimously approved proceeding <br />with installation of lights at the Kiwanis-Hobart baseball field. <br />Mr. Earl Cason, a member of the Kiwanis Club, presented $10,000 <br />on behalf of the Kiwanis Club to help with this project. <br />This is a request to expend up to $27,000 additional funds to - <br />complete the entire lighting of the field. This money will come <br />from Account No. 102-210-572-66.39 as established by the County <br />Commission for this budget year. The current balance in the <br />above account is $70,000. <br />------------ - <br />Chuck Ranson, Earl Cason, and Terry Goff, announced on <br />behalf of the Kiwanis Club, the contribution of $10,000 to help <br />pay for the installation of lights at the Kiwanis-Hobart baseball <br />field. <br />Chairman Scurlock commended the Kiwanis Club for their <br />cooperation and efforts in the recreational interests of the <br />County, and Commissioner Bird thanked them in addition for their <br />contribution in building another large pavilion at the park. <br />Mr. Cason announced that the annual Kiwanis Auction would be <br />held December 3rd and 4th. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously (4-0) <br />authorized the expenditure of up to $27,000 in <br />additional funds to complete the entire lighting <br />of the ballfield at Kiwanis-Hobart Park. <br />45 <br />NOV 28 1984 BOOK Fti, . 45 <br />
