the project. He reported that he has discussed this with both <br />Mr. Orth and Mr. Lysne, and neither had any objections. Mr. <br />Knight stated he would not go along with the project, if it did <br />not satisfy them. <br />Pastor "Buddy" Tipton informed the Board that he owns land <br />across the street from the proposed project and does feel it is a <br />very positive move. <br />Nancy Offutt next came before the Board representing the <br />Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Realtors and stated that <br />both organizations had requested her to speak in favor of the <br />project. She did agree it meets a need in our county for <br />additional resort activity. She also felt the location -provides -- <br />another focal point in our county as well as a nice welcome to <br />Indian River County. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />(4-0) closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bowman, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Commissioner Bird, <br />to adopt Ordinance 84-88 rezoning the subject <br />property to R -2D. <br />Attorney Brandenburg wished to be sure the Knight property <br />would be deleted from the description; Mr. Shearer assured him it <br />would, and the rezoning, therefore, would involve only 133 acres. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously (4-0). <br />31 <br />BOOK, • 59 PAGE109 <br />
