D E C 5 1984 - Boos 59 PAGE. 150 <br />Administrator Wright pointed out that the County supports <br />quite a few organizations, and he really would encourage the <br />Board not to get into doing building repairs, parking lot <br />repairs, etc., for a private organization because he feels it <br />will have a domino effect. Secondly, he also pointed out that it <br />would involve co -mingling general fund obligations with Road & <br />Bridge, which is a MSTU. The Library Board has a budget, and if <br />they need the money, he felt they should come back and ask for <br />it. If the Board wishes to give them money, that is fine, but he <br />suggested they either give the Library Board the money out of the <br />General Fund or reimburse the MSTU out of the General Fund <br />because he did not feel the Board should start subsidizing <br />non-profit organizations through our Road & Bridge or Parks <br />operations, etc., <br />The Motion died for lack of a second. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he would relay this <br />information to the Library Board. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that it is a county library, <br />and he would like to be able to find some way we could assist. <br />He realized it is not our building. <br />The Administrator noted that he is not saying don't support <br />it, just support it a different way.. <br />t DISCUSS BEACH EROSION <br />Commissioner Wodtke informed the Board that City Councilman <br />Parris called him regarding a date for a joint meeting on beach <br />erosion and tentatively suggested the 17th of December. <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that a lot of work has been done by <br />various members of the Beach Restoration Committee, and there is <br />an organization of property owners, the "Save Our Shores" group. <br />We also are getting a lot of input from areas not in the City of <br />Vero Beach, i.e., The Moorings, Summerplace, etc. There are <br />groups working on additional funding from property owners. <br />Commissioner Wodtke wanted to be sure the Committee does not <br />
