Consideration of Proposed Prohibition of Commercial Events at Single- <br /> Family Residences ("Ordinance 2") [Legislative] <br /> Mr. DeBraal explained the logic of the Ordinance 2 that would prohibit a <br /> single-family residence being rented out as a site for a commercial event. It <br /> would not affect activities such as private parties by the homeowner. Moreover, <br /> temporary use permits could be applied for on a case by case basis, especially <br /> on large (agricultural) parcels. <br /> Dr. Mlles Conway urged the board to pass this Ordinance, not only <br /> because it's good for the neighborhood, but also for the environment, due to the <br /> sea turtles on the beach where many weddings are held. <br /> Nat Mortese voiced concern about events being held on large acreages <br /> and Mr. DeBraal responded that he could apply for temporary use permits as <br /> needed.
