If that is what the County is asking for, he <br />believed that could be done this afternoon. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0), <br />Commissioner Lyons being absent), authorized the <br />the County, acting as the local sponsor of the Corps <br />of Engineers project, to write a letter of response <br />to the letter received from the Corps dated October <br />31, 1984, confirming the Board of County Commission's <br />ability and willingness to share in the cost of the <br />project and asking the Corps to expedite this project <br />and to consider extending this area to the north with <br />the understanding that it would not jeopardize or <br />delay the project; and confirmed, in concurrence with <br />the City of Vero Beach, the agreement to use funding <br />formula Plan A, as outlined on the chart. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that Commissioner Lyons had <br />indicated that he is supportive of this concept. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0) <br />endorsed the recommendation of the Beach Restoration <br />and Prevention Committee to move forward towards <br />developing a coastal management plan for the entire <br />coastline of Indian River County and asking the <br />cooperation of the municipalities involved; and <br />requested the Committee to come back with some <br />recommendations. <br />67 <br />
