JAN <br />2 1985 <br />8001( 59 PdGc e� 2 <br />computer directly to the jail. and Mr. Dean confirmed that it <br />would enable staff to update the inmates' records almost <br />immediately. <br />Commissioner Scurlock inquired if it would be acceptable if <br />we waited a week and authorized the Attorney and staff to <br />negotiate the modifications discussed in the meantime. <br />Director Dean felt it would be preferable to have the Board <br />approve the contract based on correcting the language as <br />discussed. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Bird, to authorize <br />staff, with the assistance of the County Attorney, <br />to make the necessary adjustments to the contract <br />with H.T.E., setting a figure not to exceed $18,000 <br />and to authorize the signature of the Chairman upon <br />approval of the contract by the County Attorney. <br />Commissioner Bird wished to be assured that language is <br />included that will give us an assurance the finished product will <br />work as desired. <br />It was noted that is what Attorney Brandenburg will be <br />working on, and the Administrator further noted that we will be <br />doing this in phases, and if it should get out of hand, it can be <br />stopped. Director Dean pointed out that it is to the company's <br />advantage to make the program work as they want to sell it to <br />other people. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Fully executed contract with H.T.E., Inc., for Jail <br />Management and Information Tracking System Computer Program is on <br />file in the Office of the Clerk. <br />22 <br />
