WeTW REFERENCES: <br />Emergency Mana$ me t Director <br />BACKGROUND <br />Nuclear Regulation 0654 and Florida Statute Chapter 252 <br />required that a utility operating a Nuclear Power Plant <br />provide and negotiate funding with the local political <br />subdivision to support the subdivisions participation. <br />Indian River County is a "host county" and as such is <br />tasked with monitoring; decontaminating; and sheltering <br />evacuees from the St. Lucie County area. <br />vunvncnr. <br />The Department of Emergency Management, State Division <br />of Emergency Management and Florida Power & Light nego- <br />tiated the contract for calendar year 1985 in August of <br />this year. Attached are three copies of the agreement <br />in the amount of $26,654.00 that required three original <br />signatures of the Commission Chairman. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />It is recommended that the Chairman sign the three copies <br />to enter into the agreement for the year 1985. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by Commis- <br />sioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously approved <br />the 1985 Radiological Emergency Preparedness Agree- <br />ment with the Department of Community Affairs and <br />authorized the signature of the Chairman. <br />7 <br />JAN 2 1985 BOCK 59 u(U 297 <br />
