Wednesday, January 16, 1985 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />January 16; 1985, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Patrick B. <br />Lyons, Chairman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and William C. Wodtke, Jr. Also <br />present were Michael J. Wright, County Administrator; Gary <br />Brandenburg, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; L. S. <br />"Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental Relations Director; Jeffrey K. <br />Barton, OMB Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend John Simon, First United Methodist Church, gave the <br />invocation, and County Attorney Brandenburg led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA - EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Commissioner Bird wished to add an item under the <br />Intergovernmental Coordinator's matters in regard to rejecting <br />bids on the tennis courts at Gifford Park and rebidding. <br />Secondly, he wished to add an item in regard to appointing an <br />additional member to the Countywide Recreation Study Committee. <br />Commissioner Scurlock reported that he would like to be <br />replaced on the Economic Development Committee by Commissioner <br />Wodtke, who has agreed; this will enable him to spend more time <br />on the Transportation Committee. He, therefore, requested that <br />this item be added under his matters. <br />Chairman Lyons wished to add a Proclamation re Arbor Day. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />added the above items to today's agenda. <br />BOOK v o ;':.1, o1; <br />
