Attorney <br />O'Haire informed the Board that the applicant resides in <br />Summerplace, and he acquired this corner property with the <br />thought in mind of providing a buffer and protection to the <br />residential subdivision. It was only after a lot of thought and <br />discussion with the owners in the subdivision that this site plan <br />application was made. Attorney O'Haire entered into the record a <br />petition signed by a majority of the residents in Summerplace <br />supporting the site plan. <br />(SAID PETITION IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK) <br />Attorney O'Haire reminded the Board that he previously has <br />come before the Board to oppose the building of a Jiffy Mart on <br />another corner of this particular intersection and felt that to <br />deny the site plan today would be punishing the applicant for not <br />wanting to access the property through Shell Lane out of <br />consideration to the residents in Summerplace. <br />Attorney O'Haire pointed out that the bank located at the <br />intersection at AIA and 17th Street has not generated any <br />significant amount of traffic.
