Wednesday, March 6, 1985 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />March 6, 1985, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Patrick B. <br />Lyons, Chairman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; and Margaret C. Bowman. Absent was William C. Wodtke, Jr., <br />who was out of state on County business. Also present were <br />Michael J. Wright, County Administrator; Gary Brandenburg, <br />Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; Jeffrey K. Barton, <br />OMB Director; and Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. Reverend Stan <br />Sanford, Wabasso First Baptist Church, gave the invocation, and <br />Commissioner Bird led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Administrator Wright wished to add an item for discussion <br />under General Services in regard to the purchase of the telephone <br />building for the Sheriff. <br />Attorney Brandenburg requested that a discussion be added <br />under his matters in regard to a letter to the City Attorney <br />regarding the purchasing of Hutchinson Utilities. <br />Commissioner Bowman asked an item be added under her matters <br />in regard to naming the barrier island Orchid Island. <br />Commissioner Bird requested that a discussion re construct- <br />ing a new ballfield at Kiwanis Hobart Park be added under his <br />matters. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, Commissioner Wodtke being <br />absent, the Board unanimously (4-0) approved the <br />addition of the above items to today's agenda. <br />MAR 6 1955 BOOK E 40 <br />L- <br />t. <br />
