Barton REFERENCES: <br />Budget Officer <br />The attached record from the Clerks Office shows Documentary Stamp purchases <br />at the 4W$1,000 from October 1982 to February 1985• <br />If the proposed tax had been in place, Indian River County would have received <br />the following increased revenues from the 50$1,000 additional tax: <br />FY 82-83 $230,000 T <br />FY 83-84 260,000 <br />FY 84-85 225,000 PROJECTED <br />This same proposal has been supported before the Florida State Legislator for <br />the last three years by the Florida Association of Home Builders as an alternative _ <br />to impact fees. <br />Commissioner Bird believed that this proposal will generate <br />some public interest, and he felt it should be scheduled for a <br />later date. <br />Commissioner Scurlock commented that he personally is a <br />strong supporter of user fees, but he would have no problem with <br />getting some public input. <br />Administrator Wright pointed out that the Board actually <br />would not be increasing -the charge but merely saying that they <br />support such an increase. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously agreed <br />to reschedule discussion regarding a proposed <br />additional documentary stamp charge for the next <br />Regular Meeting. <br />33 <br />BOOK 6 0 P'.111 8 <br />J <br />
