APR 1 0 1985 <br />BOOK CO PAGE 448 <br />ability of being included in the node as it has been our <br />general policy that any commercial zoning existing anywhere <br />near the node will be included within those specific <br />boundaries. <br />Commissioner Scurlock understood that the process <br />consists of two steps: 1) Determine that we want to expand <br />the node; and, 2) Proceed to draw the definite boundaries as <br />to what is going to be included in that expansion. <br />Commissioner Wodtke asked if the properties shown <br />inside the boundaries depicted on the map in today's backup <br />material added up to 550 acres and Mr. Shearer confirmed <br />that they did. <br />Ed Nelson of Village Green West asked what effect this <br />would have on Village Green West, and Mr. Shearer assured <br />him this would have no effect on that community. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously <br />closed the Public Hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Ordinance 85-31 amending the text of the land use <br />element of the Comprehensive Plan providing for <br />enlarging the 300 acre commercial/industrial node <br />at the intersection of 1-95 and State Road 60 to <br />550 acres. <br />17 <br />
