Please be advised that on behalf of the Indian River <br />County Bar Association, I will be attending the public hearing to <br />speak in favor of adoption of the ordinance. <br />Sincerely yours, <br />Q /3a.,gz <br />Lawrence A. Barkett <br />LAB:dv <br />At their 4/16/85 meeting, the Bar Association unanimously voted to <br />support the adoption of this Ordinance. <br />Attorney Brandenburg explained that the ordinance <br />establishes a family mediation and conciliation service pursuant <br />to Florida Statute, Section 749, and provides that the <br />participants in the service will fund the entire cost. What will <br />occur is that the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court will enter an <br />administrative order setting forth all procedures to be used by <br />litigants in dissolution of marriage cases. The individuals <br />involved then will have the opportunity to submit to such a <br />service if they fall under the guidelines established under the <br />court, and it is felt it could do some good. He stressed that <br />the ordinance includes specific language that the County <br />Commission will not fund any of the cost of the services and <br />-Ai 21 <br />s � <br />0 <br />
