Wednesday, May 15, 1985 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at -the County Commission <br />Chambers, 1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, <br />May 15, 1985, at 9:00 o'clock A.M. Present were Patrick B. <br />Lyons, Chairman; Don C. Scurlock, Jr., Vice Chairman; Richard N. <br />Bird; Margaret C. Bowman; and William C. Wodtke, Jr. Also <br />present were Michael J. Wright, County Administrator; L. S. <br />"Tommy" Thomas, Intergovernmental Relations Director; Gary <br />Brandenburg, Attorney to the Board of County Commissioners; and <br />Virginia Hargreaves, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend Stan Sanford, First Baptist Church, Wabasso, gave <br />the invocation, and Attorney Brandenburg led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Commissioner Scurlock wished to add the following to today's <br />agenda: <br />1) Reaction to proposed Group Home legislation; <br />2) Board workshop with Overall Economic Development <br />Committee; <br />3) Architect Selection Committee's recommendation on <br />the Sheriff's complex; <br />4) Proclamation re Salvation Army; and <br />5) Proclamation re Volunteers. <br />Commissioner Bowman requested that an item re considering <br />establishment of an ad hoc citizens' committee to study the St. <br />John's Management Plan be added to the agenda. <br />Attorney Brandenburg requested the addition of an item to <br />discuss his meeting with our underwriter's re potential finan- <br />cing and authorization to start producing documents. <br />Commissioner Wodtke wished to add discussion of the status <br />of the new jail. <br />Commissioner Bird asked that an item re some type of waste <br />disposal system at the Fairgrounds be added to the agenda. <br />BOOKkG` ! <br />MAY 15 1985 <br />
