He wished to know what the <br />definition of a "required" front yard is, i.e., is that from the <br />side of the building all the way to the sidelines? <br />area. <br />Director Keating stated that the setbacks delineate the yard <br />Commissioner Wodtke noted that, in other words, they can <br />put the recreation vehicle by the side of the house, if it is not <br />In the required setbacks, and Director Keating confirmed that the <br />recreation vehicle can be put there but not the satellite dish. <br />Administrator Wright inquired about utility trailers, and <br />Director Keating stated you can put them in your garage or <br />carport, your side yard or back yard; just so it isn't within the <br />setbacks. <br />Commissioner Wodtke wished to know if a carport with just a <br />roof over it is considered enclosed, and Director Keating <br />confirmed that it is considered enclosed if it has a roof. <br />Commissioner Bird believed the required screening on <br />property lines for dish antennas is quite extensive and asked if <br />we have had many complaints. <br />Director Keating noted that there has been a case where <br />someone was sued in this regard by other property owners. <br />Commissioner Bowman commented that it seems if you screen <br />them too much, you might cut down on their efficiency, and Com- <br />missioner Wodtke did believe these satellite dishes are quite <br />directional and was not sure where they could get the right angle <br />in a backyard. <br />Director Keating pointed out that there is always the <br />possibility of a variance, and these can be put on the roof. <br />Commissioner Bird again expressed concern about the screen- <br />ing required to hide these satellite dishes, and Director Keating <br />qualified that we are talking about sight from ground level. <br />Commissioner Bird suggested language, i.e., to shield the <br />entity from the ground level view of surrounding properties, and <br />the Board agreed. <br />35 <br />MAY 15 1985'9 <br />9 fa�E <br />
