SECTION 5 <br />A new Section <br />**ORDIN. 85- ** <br />20(A), entitled "CG: General Commercial District", is hereby <br />adopted and shall read as follows: <br />SECTION 20(A) CG: GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT <br />A. Purpose and Intent <br />The CG General Commercial District is established to implement the Indian <br />River County Comprehensive Plan policies for commercial nodes along major <br />traffic generators and to provide areas for the development of general <br />retail sales and selected service activities at accessible locations in the <br />County. The CG district is further intended to protect any nearby residen- <br />tial properties from any possible adverse effects of commercial activity. <br />The district is not intended to provide opportunity of heavy commercial <br />activities, such as commercial service uses (See Sec. 20.1B(5b) or heavy <br />repair (See Sec. 20.1B(5e), new car sales or industrial uses. <br />B. Permitted Uses <br />In the CG, General Commercial District, no building or structure shall be <br />erected, altered or used, except for one or more of the following. Outdoor <br />storage shall be prohibited within the CG district. Site plan review shall <br />be required for all uses, pursuant to the provisions of Section 23. <br />1. Agricultural Uses <br />- Landscaping Services <br />- Plant Nurseries and Greenhouses <br />2. . Institutional Uses <br />- Child and Adult Care Facilities <br />- Civic and Social Membership Organizations <br />- Places of Worship <br />3. Community Service Uses <br />- Cultural and Civic Facilities <br />- Emergency Services <br />- Governmental Administration Facilities <br />- Post Offices <br />- Schools, Business and Collegiate <br />4. Recreational Uses <br />- Beach Clubs <br />- Country Clubs <br />- Golf Courses <br />Major Sports and Recreational Areas and Facilities <br />- Marinas <br />- Parks and Playgrounds Open to the Public <br />- Tennis Facilities <br />- Yacht Clubs <br />5. Commercial Uses <br />a. Business Services <br />b. Commercial Entertainment, Recreation and <br />drive-in theatres and similar unenclosed <br />facilities) <br />C. Eating and Drinking Establishments <br />d.
